Hello Friends,
Tomorrow I embark on something that I always wanted to do. I will be hosting my own radio show. I plan to turn dreaded Monday into Monday Madness. Let's add some spice to the week. Did you know and this is a fact, that more heart attacks occur on Monday that anytime of the week? Why because many people dread their jobs, feel stressed out, and then the heart reacts. So, let's change our perspectives regarding Mondays. Jahzara's show is the Tranquil Moments Show, but tomorrow I anticipate will be more hilarious than anything.
I will be interviewing the Real Malachi. If you've read my book Love Don't Live Here Anymore you will know the character Malachi in the book is something else. That's all I will say about him. Listen in tomorrow and you will receive a free gift from Jahzara.
About Tomorrow's Show:
Malachi Chandler is at it again. He's Gary, Indiana's and Jacksonville, Florida's Most Hated or Most Loved. It just depends on who you ask. He's at it again, but his life may be in the balance. Find out why at night at the club just might cost him his life.
Tune in to Jahzara's Blog Talk Radio show on December 22, 2008 7PM EST, 6PM CST. Let's start the week off with some hot sizzling drama.
Call-in or listen in at Number: (646) 929-1765 or listen at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Jahzara
And if you missed Nyree and Malachi's therapy session be sure to dial (218) 936-1005 Pin# 249167#

Give America Back to God
I had the honor of speaking with Demetra Reid today by telephone. She is an amazing woman. She is the president of w.o.m.e.n. EO which is a phenemonal organization (do an internet search). We were discussing the current situation and our country is facing and I asked her if might use her poem in my blog and she granted permission. I could give you my opinion about the situation, but Ms. Reid does such an eloquent job in her poem Give America Back to God, read for yourself.
Thanks Dee Dee for sharing your poem with me and the rest of America. I just hope people will take heed.
GIVE AMERICA BACK TO GOD BY DEMETRA REID
MY COUNTRY TIS OF THEE
WE CAN NOT WALK THE STREETS
SWEET LAND OF LIBERTY
SCHOOLS UNDER LOCK AND KEY
FOR THEE I PRAY
LAND WHERE OUR FATHERS DIED
WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR PRIDE?
DANGER ON EVERY SIDE
WHERE IS FREEDOM’S RING?
FATHER, YOU KNOW WHERE IT WENT
OUR KNEES HAVE NOT BEEN BENT
LESS TIME ON YOU WE’VE SPENT
PLEASE HEAR OUR CRY!
THIS COUNTRY I GIVE BACK TO THEE
IT CAN ALL START WITH ME
AT NIGHT I’LL BEND MY KNEES
SO FREEDOM CAN RING!

How you livin'?
(Inspired by Mz Kiki from Myspace)
First, let me start off by saying I purposely left out the helping verb "are" in the title for effect as well as left off the "g" in living. I am educated, have degrees and certifications and still that won't be enough to make it into heaven.
How are you living? Don't turn around and look at someone else or even ask someone to validate how you're living. In your heart you know how you're living. So ask yourself if Jesus were to come back right now- at this moment. What would he find? We don't have as much time as we think we have. You probably don't want to hear this but it's true. However, if you're not where you know you need to be, it's not too late. You can make the change right now.

Another Woman's Husband
I recently read Angel Mechelle's Another Woman's Husband and it was a good read. Prior to reading it, I had my own preconcieved notion about the other woman, Bree. However, after reading the book my attitude about infidelity remains the same. I'm not for it, but my heart softened toward Bree.
My question for today is: Who deserves the blame when cheating occurs in a marriage? Is it the man's fault when he goes out and cheats? Is it his wife's fault that he cheats? I mean does she put a gun to his head and force him to cheat? What is the responsibility of the other woman? Is it possible to be in love with two individuals at the same time?

Jahzara On The Move
Jahzara is an author on the brink of her own brilliance. Seemingly effortlessly, she entertains every human emotion. In addition to penning three novels, she is a publisher who oversees the day-to-day operations of Tranquil Moments. Her latest release, "Love Don't Live Here Anymore," is an entertaining and enjoyable easy-read. She masterfully keeps the reader guessing with unexpectant twists and turns, and a compelling plot characteristic of only the best 'page-turners.' I spoke with Jahzara about her vision and life as an author, publisher, her goals, ambitions, and of course ... the becoming of this destined-to-be bestseller. .
Fran Brigg: Good morning, Jahzara. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us today. Tell us a little more about your background.
Jahzara:Good morning, Fran. Thank you so much for allowing me this opportunity to share with the world who Jahzara is. I am the oldest of two children born to Diane and Julius Rouse. I am from Gary, Indiana and have a lot of love for my city. I come from a family of educators and entrepreneurs. So, I guess the fact that I am an educator and business owner is in my blood.
Fran Briggs: Your new book, Love Don't Live Here Anymore, is due in a few weeks, but it's already receiving favorable reviews. What prompted you to write it?
Jahzara: There were a lot of factors, that prompted me to write Love Don't Live Here Anymore. The main character in the book, Nyree evolves from a place where I used to live. When, I was in that horrible, place, I recall thinking no one should have to go through this. I bought a blank book and began journaling my experience at that time. Even then, I envisioned that I would share my story with others one day. I wanted my story to be an inspiration and cause women to evaluate some things in their lives. I believed that if my story could help prevent heart ache is one person's life, then my living through that ordeal would not have been in vain. Some years later, I would take a English course at Indiana University with Dr. Buckley. That class would really prompt me to write Love Don't Live Here Anymore. The assignment was simple: write something that is the truth, write something that is a lie, and write a tall tale. When I shared the beginning of Love Don't Live Here Anymore, the class thought it was a lie. Dr. Buckley's comments on my assignment were something to the effect that I should keep going and turn it into a novel. So, after reading Dr. Buckley's comment, I knew that I had to write Love Don't Live Here Anymore.
Fran Briggs: Is there a particular audience or group you wrote Love Don't Live Here Anymore for?
Jahzara: Love Don't Live Here Anymore is anyone's book. The content in this book will cross gender, racial, and economic lines. Fran, I like something that I've heard you say on occasion, 'Life happens,' and because life happens to us all, I believe that Love Don't Live Here Anymore appeals to a broad audience.
Fran Briggs It's a phenomenal book. Could you share an overview with us?
Jahzara Love Don't Live Here Anymore is the story of a charming couple Nyree Shaw-Chandler and Malachi Chandler who fall in lust but think its love. After the nuptials and the honeymoon, the real drama unfolds. What would you do if you constantly hurt the one you loved? What would you do if Mr. Right turned out to be 'Mr. Wrong?' What do you do when love just doesn't live here anymore? My book addresses various themes such as love, trust, denial, and affairs of the heart.
Fran Briggs: That's a powerful synopsis. What has been your biggest surprise since becoming an author?
Jahzara: My biggest surprise has been when people read my works and think that I am talking about them. In my first work, Contradictions, there is a character named, Sasha. One of my readers believes "Sasha" is her. In Friends With Benefits, a story I wrote in Hood2Hood, there is a character, called "Aris." Guys keep asking me if I can hook them up with "Aris." I have to laugh because, Aris is just a character.
Fran Briggs:: Becoming a publisher is a major endeavor. How challenging was it when you first became one?
Jahzara: (Laughing) Oh my goodness, it was real challenging. Fran, I had no clue where to start, I just wanted to do it. So, there was lots of research and brainstorming involved. And I must give thanks to a good author friends, Sheila Peele-Miller, Mimi Jacobs, and of course you, Fran. These women took time to assist me with my endeavors. This is remarkable because both Sheila and Mimi are also publishers and were very helpful in assisting me.
Fran Briggs: What first piqued your interest in the publishing industry?
Jahzara: I get antsy sometimes and that's because I know what I want. I also know that you can't wait for others to make your dream happen - you have to get out there and make it happen and that is what prompted me to get into the publishing industry.
Fran Briggs: Most authors are avid readers. Are there any books that you have read recently that you've really enjoyed?
Jahzara: Yes, I've read Dirty Game by Shannon Holmes, Guaranteed Success by Percy Miller, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey, and Do You! by Russell Simmons. I have enjoyed all of these books. I also enjoy reading my Bible - there is so much in this one book.
Fran Briggs: Writers often say that, just by observing human behavior, something moved them enough to start writing immediately. Have you ever been inspired in such a way?
Jahzara: Yes, ideas began spinning in my head one night as I vacuumed at Waldenbooks in SouthLake Mall. The result was my first novel, Contradictions.
Fran Briggs: Where does the position of a author end, and a publisher's begin? Or, are they both all encompassing?
Jahzara: For an author, I think the hard part is over when the manuscript is written. However, when you're the author and the publisher, completion of the manuscript is the beginning. For me, both are encompassing. When I am taking on the role as the author, I try to set-up my work in such a way that it will make my tasks easier as a publisher. And as the publisher, I am trying to work as efficiently as possible so that Jahzara, the author will shine. They go hand in hand.
Fran Briggs What's hanging out with Jahzara like?
Jahzara Ah, that's a good question. Jahzara is really just a 'down to earth girl.' People who don't know me make the mistake of having preconceived idea of me. I love life. Fran, I work hard and I play hard. I love my princesses, Amber and Halle. We have 'Girls Night' when my husband is at work. Girls Night is popcorn and movies, sitting at the table drinking hot cocoa, or all of us dancing. When hanging with Jahzara you have to be down for anything. I can be spontaneous. For example, I change my hair a lot so people who know me have gotten used to seeing the many looks of Jahzara. Sometimes, at a serious moment, I just might blow a bubble.
At the grocery store, you can see my kids and running up and down the aisle with the buggy, so caution when shopping and Jahzara is in the store. I love intellectual conversations, and then sometimes I like to be goofy. Some days, I am a little late for work because I just want to have some quality time with my girls, or I have to stop for a cappuccino in the morning. Hanging with me, means if you don't have it, and I have it- I got you.
Fran Briggs Jahzara, you have many vocations including high school teacher and small business owner. You're also a massage therapist. Tell us how that cameFran Briggs about.
Jahzara It came about when I was expecting my second child. I just thought it would be a great career change. I did research and it just agreed with me. People say that they can not afford to pamper themselves, I say you can't afford not to. Think about health care cost. It's really cheaper to take care of yourself and do what I call preventive maintenance. Get really sick and then compare the cost.
Massage is not a luxury; some people believe it is. Massage is necessary to keep your body functioning properly. (Laughing) Ooh, I need a massage myself.
Fran Briggs(Laughing) Me, too... Almost everyone wants to see their words in print. How would you advise the individual who aspires to become an author?
Jahzara Write! If I were a baseball player, you'd expect to see me with a baseball bat practicing. If I were a basketball player-you'd expect to see me with a basketball in a gym. So, if you want to be a writer, you have to practice your craft and write. I truly believe sometimes we over-think things. Don't think about it, get a piece of paper and a pen and just let it flow. Don't worry about editing, let the thoughts spill onto the paper. When you're finished, you can go back and clean it up.
Fran Briggs: When are you most happy?
Jahzara: I am most happy when I accomplish my tasks. When I do, I know I can sit back and take a deep breath and enjoy a quiet moment alone.
Fran Briggs: What's next for Jahzara?
Jahzara: Wow! Be on the look out for Da Test: Is He Date-able? (It's the remix version of Contradictions, and screenplays for Contradictions, Love Don't Live Here Anymore, and U 4 Life, which is the sequel to Love Don't Live Here Anymore. I am also launching "Be a Blessing." This is a campaign where I give back to the community. My goal is to empower and inspire women and children across the globe. You can learn more at http://www.nicolebradley.com/Be_A_Blessing.html
Additionally, I will be opening a premiere day spa, Tranquil Moments. It will provide the 'Hollywood experience' at a relaxed cost.
Fran Briggs: Thank you, Jahzara for the honor to interview today.
Jahzara: Fran, it has been my pleasure. Thank you for this opportunity.

More Details about Love Don't Live Here Anymore here.

Jahzara Releases 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore'
"The novel originated in Graduate school. It started out as one of the assignments my professor gave in my creative writing class six years ago. When he read my paper, his remarks included, 'You have to make this a novel.' And I did." - Jahzara
GARY, IN -- (Sep. 22, 2008) -- ( eMediaCampaigns!) -- Speaking through her publicist, Indiana Author, Jahzara announced that she has released her empowering novel, Love Don't Live Here Anymore (Tranquil Moments, 2008). The book is available world-wide, and follows on the heels of the author's freshman book, Contradictions, an exciting urban novel.
Jahzara is a teacher who was born, raised, and currently resides in Gary, Indiana. She attended local schools before earning her Bachelor's degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, and is working on her Masters degree in secondary education at Indiana University Northwest.
The storyline within the entertaining novel includes Nyree Shaw-Chandler as the main character. She is beautiful, well-educated, and very wealthy. Seemingly, or at least for those looking in from the outside, Nyree has the perfect life. However in truth, she is unfulfilled and yearns for a personal and meaningful companionship to eliminate her feelings of inadequacy.
Haphazardly, and with blinders on, she enters a relationship with Malachi Chandler. Despite Malachi's obvious and major character flaws, Nyree believes they aren't beyond her being able to change them herself. Upon the onset of the courtship, she is very patient and as equally unassuming largely because the charming and handsome Malachi makes her feel special, loved, and beautiful.
Fascination soon turns into frustration, and Nyree eventually becomes heart-broken. After coming to the realization that Malachi isn't who she desperately wants him to be, she finally concedes that her efforts are futile and she is unable to change him. With the handwriting on the wall, Nyree chooses to suppress her feelings and make the best of a bad situation.
Intriguing and utterly convincing, Love Don't Live Here Anymore is at times, also extremely intense. It chronicles the dynamics, and explores the aspects of the couple's pretentious and dysfunctional relationship. In the end, the reader witnesses Nyree's eye-opening, self-discovery as she puts things in their proper perspective. The anticipated best seller was release on June 19, 2008 and will be available on the author’s website, online and traditional bookstores, as well as Tranquil Moments, LLC, Publishing.
Regarding the release, Jahzara commented about the genesis of her book. "The novel originated in Graduate school. It started out as one of the assignments my professor gave in my creative writing class six years ago. When he read my paper, his remarks included, 'You have to make this a novel.' And I did. I had to do it so that I could heal and grow. My goal will be accomplished if, by reading this novel, someone learns from my lesson and does not repeat the same mistake."

Love Don't Live Here Anymore review by Kisha Green

In the novel Love Don't Live Here Anymore by Jahzara readers will be introduced to couple Nyree and Malachi. On the outside looking in they appear to be your average happy go lucky couple working on forever. This would indeed be the case if Malachi could simply grow up and flat out just be a man.
Readers will not be able to put Love Don't Live Here Anymore down simply because of the true to life raw emotions displayed throughout this novel. Readers will laugh at times while other times want to cry but overall Jahzara does a fabulous job over weaving together a very realistic story line with just enough excitement from the couple’s never ending drama to keep you engrossed.
Love Don't Live Here Anymore is a very interesting read and upon completion you will even question some of the choices you might have made when dealing with matters of the heart. That is how real these characters are. One thing for certain is that when a relationship is over…it’s over and in Nyree’s case she is right when she says Love Don't Live Here Anymore.
Author Jahzara has a fascinating gift with story telling and whatever she touches is sure to be literary gold! Kudos to her for a great book!

Love Better Not Live Here Anymore- Angel Mechelle

Love Better not live here anymore…after all of that!
Sometimes life deals us a hand that we try to play at first, but eventually we realize we are never going to win, with the cards we have been dealt.
Love Don’t Live Here Anymore is the compelling story of Nyree. A woman who loves with all of her heart, she is put through test after test when she marries her Malachi. The trials and tribulations she faces throughout the relationship are shocking and often heartbreaking.
Order a copy of Angel Mechelle's Another Woman's Husband at www.myspace.com/writeordiechic
As a reader I found myself praying that Nyree would see Malachi for who he really was…(A lying, cheating, worthless piece of a man) His actions against the woman who loved him with every ounce of her being were despicable. Readers will find themselves disgusted with Malachi and wonder why Nyree doesn’t just cut her losses and move on. It seems like every time she tries, there is a new obstacle placed in front of her, obstacles that while reading the book you see until they smack you in the face. Kind of like they do Nyree.
I enjoyed Love Don’t Live here anymore. Jahzara’s writing style keeps you connected with the characters and flipping the pages until the end. The novel is exciting and will have you talking out loud to yourself and the characters! Not new to the literary world Jahzara’s first novel “Contradictions” is available from her website. I think I just might order that one tonight!
Great job Jahzara!!!

Her Story Touched My Heart
It’s Not Where You Start…
By Jahzara
I am not easily impressed however a few months ago I saw one of Klaire Russell’s hand-crafted purses and was taken aback. She had hand-crafted a purse with the Greek letters for Delta Sigma Theta. Immediately, I wanted one with my Greek letters, Zeta Phi Beta. I contacted Klaire and she agreed to design purses for Jahzara. We chatted at length and her story was equally impressive. I would like to share it with you. I want you to garnish from Klaire Russell’s story that it doesn’t matter where you start, it’s about where you finish.
At the age of seventeen, Klaire was married and by the time she was twenty-two years old she had three children. In addition to being controlling, her husband was physically and verbally abusive to her. Although, he was controlling he did allow her to obtain two Associates Degrees. As time went on, Klaire realized that she could no longer stay with him for the children, but she needed to leave for safety and sanity.
It seemed that when she left him things were looking up for her. Klaire had been on welfare most of her marriage and lived in the ‘hood. God blessed her with a job that paid a salary of $50,000 a year and she was able to move into a beautiful home. For seven years, she would work 12 hours a day, seven days a week. Working these grueling hours would eventually take a toll on Klaire’s body. By 2004, Klaire’s body was under such duress that she could no longer work. She stated, “I was so sick that somedays, I couldn’t get up. I gained 70 pounds and had to walk with a cane. At times I lost consciousness.”
Klaire’s job observed the decline in her body, but believed that it was slothfulness and fired her. When Klaire lost her job she lost everything. Klaire lost her income, her home, and self worth. Times had gotten so hard that she and her children were living out of her car.
Klaire suffered from depression and wanted her life to end. She didn’t understand why she was suffering such distress. Klaire even questioned God about her current suffering. On December 31, 2006, Klaire awakened in a hospital room. On her way to the restroom, she saw an angel. Scared, Klaire retreated under the covers, but often peeked from under the covers to see the angel lifting her hands above her head and down top her waist. Klaire called her mother the next day to tell her mother about the experience. Her mother who is also a minister told Klaire that the angel’s presence was God’s way of telling Klaire that everything would be okay and Klaire did not need to worry.
Klaire’s life would turn the moment a nurse gave her 7 colored pieces of paper and 7 oil crayons to take her mind off of things. Klaire was not interested but took the items and placed them under her pillow, where they would remain for the next 7 days until she was released to go home.
On January 7, 2007, Klaire left the hospital and took her youngest daughter to the art store. Klaire states that she felt bad for having missed New Year’s with her daughter and wanted to make it up to her, so she took her daughter to the art store. Upon entering the art store, Klaire’s youngest daughter announced that they were going to paint. Klaire said, “No, we’re not.” They argued back and forth for the next 10 minutes. Klaire gave in and selected 7 paints, 7 brushes, a wooden stool, and a wooden birdhouse. Later that evening, Klaire would watch her daughter paint the stool. Klaire recalls staring and watching her daughter. Her daughter coaxed her, “ Please paint, Mom, it will make you feel better.” Klaire sat and stared at her wooden birdhouse for 15 minutes.
Fifteen minutes later, Klaire had finished something she had never imagined she would do. She had painted her first wooden birdhouse. It sold for $85. Since that day, January 7, 2007, Klaire has painted over 1300 pieces and sold all but thirty. Klaire has had radio and television appearances.
Klaire’s has no formal art training, yet her first canvas painting sold for $50, her second painting sold for $200. All of Klaire’s works are individualized, one-of-a-kinds, as she is unable to duplicate her own work. Klaire’s work is 3D and 360 degree art.which means it looks like it is coming at you or going in. Any direction that you turn the painting, yields a new picture.
These days, there is no limit to Klaire’s success. An upscale art gallery in Toledo, Ohio called The 20 North Art Gallery is now carrying her work. Her paintings are selling for $700, purses $300, Sun Parasols - $100. Jack Ford, former Mayor of Toledo, who also is an African-American has a show co-hosted with his wife. The name of the show is Coffee With the Fords. Mr. Ford personally picked out two of Klaire's paintings and they will be featured on the show, the weekend of July 19 and July 26. Klaire will also be painting live humans of canvas July 17 at The Truth Gallery.

Is It Ever Okay To Lie???
I know the answer to this question, but I really want to know what you think. I mean people lie everyday for a mulitude of reasons. Some for good reason, some for downright stupid reasons. In your opinion is it ever okay to lie? Have you ever felt the need to lie? Justified to lie? Humph. I plead the 5th but would love to hear from you.
